On Monday (12), Samsung announced the Galaxy S25 Edge, the thinnest smartphone ever produced by the Korean brand in the Galaxy lineup.

Confirming previous leaks, the device weighs just 163 grams and measures only 5.8 mm thick. Despite its slim profile, it features the same processor (Snapdragon 8 Elite) and camera as the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

“The Galaxy S25 Edge is more than just a thin smartphone,” said TM Roh, President and interim Head of the Device eXperience (DX) division at Samsung Electronics.

“The advanced engineering behind this revolutionary smartphone reflects our commitment to pushing boundaries and delivering truly unexpected premium experiences to people around the world.”

“The S25 Edge not only marks progress for its category, but also accelerates meaningful innovation across the entire mobile industry,” the executive added.

To maintain the technology of the most powerful model in the lineup, Samsung explained that it had to redesign the phone’s heat dissipation system. For that reason, the S25 Edge includes a thinner and wider vapor chamber to keep the device cool during extended use.

In terms of durability, the phone features a display reinforced with Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2. However, it falls a bit short when it comes to battery life: compared to more robust models that feature up to 5,000 mAh, the S25 Edge will have a 3,900 mAh capacity.

Available in three colors — Titanium Icy Blue, Titanium Silver, and Titanium Jetblack — the device is already available for pre-order starting Monday (12), priced at $1,099, with deliveries scheduled for May 23.
